MOLONGLO ART PRIZE - APRIL
2012
Management Committee member Alan Jones has assumed the role of coordinator of the ‘Along the Molonglo’ Exhibition in April. Further information on this exhibition and a link to the entry form is on the 2012 Molonglo Art Prize Page. We are grateful to Alan for taking on this important leadership task.
PLEIN AIR WORKSHOPS with tutor CHAN DISSANAYAKE
The
first workshop took place on 29 January in beautiful weather on Black Mountain and this is Chan's demonstration painting - WOW!
The next plein air workshop in watercolour will be on Sunday morning, February 19.
This is a wonderful opportunity to have instruction in the ACT environment by our outstanding artist member, Chan Dissanayake.
Cost is $25 per session (Non-members $30). Pay in cash on the day. For bookings please contact Lesley Whitten preferably via email Mailto: roscrae@gmail.com or phone 02 4844 2332 and mobile 0417 240 595.
There is a limit of 15 members per session. ASOC members will have initial priority in the bookings. After you have registered you will be told of the location and how to get there. In case of inclement weather the session will be held in the ASOC studio.

SUMMER ART EXPERIENCE (SAE) 2012

What a wonderful week SAE provided. Held from 9 - 13 January, SAE was a fantastic week for artists and tutors, with some excellent work produced.
The venue was wonderful - spacious, light and airy, and this contributed to a great atmosphere.
The Thursday walkaround was a good opportunity to see what the classes had produced during the week and visitors were stunned at the quality of work on show.
For artists the week provided an opportunity to learn new skills, catch up with friends, and meet new people. Over 115 artists were present and really appreciated the quality of the tutors, and their encouragement. Participants travelled from many distant places, including the Northern Territory.
Congratulations to all who worked so hard to make this event such a huge success - it went like clockwork.
